How long is a therapy session?
A standard consultation with the Clinical Psychologist is approximately 50-60 minutes in duration. The frequency and total number of sessions required will depend on the client's individual circumstances, clinical needs, treatment objectives, and therapeutic progress. Treatment recommendations will be discussed and reviewed collaboratively during the course of therapy.
Do I need a referral to consult a Clinical Psychologist?
In most instances, a referral is not required to consult a Clinical Psychologist. Clients may contact the practice directly to schedule an appointment. However, certain medical aid schemes or benefit options may require a referral from a general practitioner or another healthcare provider for reimbursement purposes. Clients are encouraged to verify their specific medical aid requirements before their consultation.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. The practice offers secure online consultations for clients who are unable to attend appointments in person or who prefer the convenience of remote therapy. Online consultations are conducted via secure platforms that are intended to protect client confidentiality and privacy, subject to the limitations inherent in electronic communications.
Which medical aid schemes do you accept?
The practice accepts a range of medical aid schemes. Clients remain responsible for confirming their psychological benefits, available funds, authorisation requirements, where applicable, and any co-payments or shortfalls with their medical aid provider prior to their appointment. Acceptance of a medical aid scheme does not constitute a guarantee of payment by the scheme.
What are your consultation fees?
Consultation fees vary depending on the nature and duration of the professional service provided. The current fee schedule is available upon request. Unless alternative arrangements have been agreed to in writing, payment is due at the time of consultation. The practice reserves the right to amend its fees from time to time.
How do I book an appointment?
Appointments may be scheduled by telephone, email, WhatsApp, or through the online booking facility available on the practice website. Appointment availability is subject to scheduling capacity, and clients are encouraged to book in advance to secure their preferred consultation time.
What is your cancellation policy?
Clients are requested to provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice should they wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Failure to provide the required notice, or failure to attend a scheduled appointment without prior notification, may result in the client being charged a cancellation or non-attendance fee. Such fees may not be recoverable from medical aid schemes and will remain the responsibility of the client.
